Hotel Dorint Am Nürburgring - The myth of the Nürburgring is unbroken

Hotel impresses with its unique location

The location of the hotel Dorint Am Nürburgring Hocheifel can hardly be topped: In the back the wonderful landscape of the Hocheifel and right on the doorstep the home straight of the world famous race track. Not only motorsport enthusiasts from all over the world agree: you can't live more beautifully. On 15 November 1989, the four-star hotel with its streamlined façade opened its doors for guests for the first time. Since then, not only the stars of Formula 1 have come and gone.

In principle, there is a different audience every weekend. This depends primarily on which event is currently taking place at the famous race track. Whether it's truck grand prix, motorcycle races, German Touring Car Championship (DTM), old-timer meetings, Rock am Ring or Formula 1, staying at the Dorint Hotel is always a must for guests and participants. On the one hand, this is due to its unique location, but also to the warm and unobtrusive hospitality with which the hotel team welcomes its guests.

The hotel lobby with its panoramic elevators and the futuristic foyer already present the hotel's motto: exclusive comfort and first-class service. Over the past 20 years, the house has also been transformed into a kind of small museum: Among other things, there are old original racing posters, various accessories for racing cars and more than 500 car models in several showcases. The hotel has received many of these gifts from the numerous regular guests over the years.

The guests come from all over the world to do their rounds on the famous Nordschleife. This shows that the myth of the Nürburgring is unbroken. The Formula 1 boom in Germany reached its peak with the successes of Michael Schumacher. In the Dorint Hotel Am Nürburgring this also meant the state of emergency on a regular basis. In the Formula 1 races, the hotel was always closed to the public for several days. Security staff guarded all entrances and exits around the clock. At that time it was still possible to reach the paddock through an underground passageway from the hotel. Since the reconstruction of the Nürburgring in 2009, this connection no longer exists. But also in the past Formula 1 races, for example, Vice World Champion Sebastian Vettel lived in the Dorint Hotel.

Ten years ago, the hotel was extended generously: The hotel currently has 207 rooms and four suites, many with balconies and views of the Grand Prix circuit. On race days, the comfort rooms are transformed into a cosy box seat with a perfect view of the finish straight. The hotel has a lot to offer not only racing fans, but also conference and recreational guests: In the restaurant "Fascination", guests are spoiled with light Mediterranean cuisine and specialities from the Eifel region. In the futuristic foyer, the lobby bar and the rustic cockpit bar invite you to a "pit stop". The 14 conference rooms can accommodate up to 1,000 people. An oasis of peace and quiet is the hotel's wellness area with a steam bath, sauna and solarium.
